Surprise!

Earlier this week Kevin had a great idea that we should surprise the kids with a hotel night downtown. This is one of Kevin and I's favorite things to do together, but we have never taken our kids. It also so happened that his annual work party up at Snowbird fell on the same weekend, adding the perfect touch to our fun weekend. So, Friday, I secretly packed our bags while the kids played outside and hid the suitcases until Kevin got home. We told them we had a surprise, but didn't tell them what it was until we got downtown. (We let them makes guesses the whole way there, but a 5 year old and 3 year old aren't the best guessers). When we pulled up to the hotel, we told them we were staying there and were going to dinner, swimming, and just having fun together. They were so excited! We had a great time. The next morning we headed up to Snowbird for Kevin's work party. The weather was PERFECT when we got there, but after about an hour it changed for the worse. It down-poured for about 45 minutes while we waited it out in the lunch tent. After the rain let up, we rode the Tram up and back and decided to call it a day. Everyone had a great time and we can't wait to do it again soon!
