Last Sunday I experienced the most horrifying day of my life. We were up the canyon with Kevin's parents, grandma, brother Jeff, and fiance Maria. After lunch we were all sitting around talking and Stockton was playing with Grandpa. All of a sudden I look over and see my son fall backwards into the lit campfire. I have never been so scared in my life. Kevin was sitting right next to the fire and all I remember was me screaming for him to get him out as I jumped from the nearby picnic table. In those few seconds I prepared myself for the worst. I thought there was no way he was coming out of that fire unharmed. Kevin quickly pulled him out and patted him down to put out the fire. He took off his jacket and we were amazed to find that the fire had burned through his jacket, but not through his shirt. Some may say it was because his jacket was somewhat fire resistant, but I know it was because my Heavenly Father was watching over him. He didn't have a mark on him. Every time I kneel down to pray I thank Heavenly Father for watching over my children. Now that has taken on a whole new meaning. I will FOREVER be grateful....
This is his jacket after...the picture doesn't do it justice
Before the incident, we were all having a great time together as a family.
