Many of you know that Kevin is a HUGE Pink Floyd fan. We have never seen the "real" Pink Floyd in concert, but Australian Pink Floyd comes to town pretty much every year. Kevin had been twice before and wanted to go again this year. However, this year it was being held at Usana Amphitheatre and Kevin wasn't sure how the sound would be, so we opted not to go. A few weeks ago I was watching channel 5 morning news and they asked a trivia question to win Aussie Pink Floyd tickets. They asked what year the band formed. I had no idea, but I thought "hey, I can google that!", so I found the answer and emailed channel 5. Much to my surprise (I never win anything) I won! Kevin, of course, was elated--and I scored some major points! ( :
Last night was the night of the concert. Kevin's mom Martha generously offered to take the kids overnight so we didn't have to worry about hurrying back. No kids for a whole night??? Date night!!!
The night started with these beautiful flowers from my sweet hubby. He said it was because he loved me, but I think a lot of it was me winning the tickets for him. ( : Whatever the reason, I was so excited! All of my favorite flowers in one vase. Love it!
We then headed to the Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner. We love it there--even though I worked there for 5 years, I still love it!
Then we headed to the concert. The weather could not have been nicer. We found a spot on the lawn (trying to avoid as many weirdos as we could) and enjoyed the show. The music was great. They really do sound just like the real thing.
For whatever reason, concerts seem to be a prime spot for people watching. There was definitely no shortage of photo-ops. Check out this fine Kodak (or Canon) moment.
Too bad we didn't get a picture of the Willie Nelson look-a-like who was beyond drunk and stumbled across us asking where his group was. Classic....
It was definitely a night to remember!
