The 24th of July in Panguitch

Where is Panguitch you ask??? It is in southern Utah, about 40 miles East of Cedar City. Why Panguitch?? My grandma and grandpa both grew up in Panguitch, so I have strong family roots there. Also, my Uncle Mitch has a cabin there, up at the lake. We LOVE spending the 24th of July there. Uncle Mitch is usually in town from California and Grandma and Grandpa are usually in the parade (or at least in town for class reunions). We love the Panguitch parade! It is so small-town America where everyone knows everyone. This is the first time our kids had been to the parade and they loved it! I think it was probably their favorite parade this year. They, of course, scored tons of candy and waved at all of the floats. Afterwards we continued our tradition of lunch at Henrie's Drive Inn--our favorite burger joint in town (the only burger joint, I think). We had a great time riding around in the old jeep, relaxing, and getting dirty. We only had one mishap when Uncle Mitch's dog Zeke bit Anistyn on the face. He had never been around kids before and launched at her the minute we walked in. Luckily she escaped with only a couple of cuts and bruises. We had to steer clear of Zeke the rest of the weekend, but still had a great time.

Looks like fun!!! Glad Annie is ok :)

ps - your description reminds me of when we used to go to Tooele for my Grandmother's reunion and parade. It was so small that they went around the parade route twice! Ha!
