Festival of Trees

My friend Leann (who is also the YW president in our ward) is on the Executive Board for Festival of Trees. This week for our Laurel/Miamaid activity we got to dress up in our formals and go to VIP opening night. We served as volunteers to help check in those that were volunteering for the event. It was lots of fun. I think the girls really enjoyed dressing up (although they DID NOT enjoy walking around looking at the trees in their high heels!) The last 3 years I have been in Young Women's we have had the opportunity to do something for Festival of Trees (usually making something for the Small Fry booth), but each time is a great experience. Last night was no exception. It is a great cause. For those of you who don't know, Festival of Trees is a charity event where people donate decorated trees, wreaths, centerpieces and much more. They are all auctioned off and every single penny earned goes to help children at Primary Children's medical center. So, get your tickets and go check it out! It's an inexpensive date or family outing and it's a lot of fun. A great way to usher in the Christmas season!

2 of our Laurels are in the JHS Bell Choir. Here they are playing in the lobby (one on each end)

Alexus, Kaytlynn, Rebekah, Leann, Amanda, Alissa, Shelley & Me. Aren't they gorgeous???

After watching Leann in action last night I have a new respect for those that volunteer at this event. She works on it all year long. So many people put in thousands of hours. Go check it out!

You look great - what a fun (and helpful) activity for your YW. Can't wait until we all get to go this weekend :)

We should really consider doing a tree next year. I think it would be sooooo fun!
